Activities

Auckland Branch is involved in representing Chinese at the local level and in organising and promoting many local Chinese community activities.� The Branch also has programmes to help the local Chinese community to celebrate Chinese festivals and programmes that support the maintenance of Chinese language and culture.

Auckland Branch activities include:

  • Organising the annual NZCA Leadership and Development Conference for youth
  • Chinese New Year Dinner with the presentation of the annual Achievement Awards
  • Fundraising to support the annual Albert Park Lantern Festival
  • Organising the series of Banana Conferences
  • Strategy Planning Meeting
  • Participation of the Auckland delegation at annual NZCA Women's Group monthly meetings and outings
  • Seniors Yum Cha
  • Bilingual language/music school for preschoolers and primary school children Easter Sports and Cultural Tournament
  • Annual Lawn Bowls Tournament on Queens Birthday weekend
  • Annual Moon Festival Dinner
  • Volleyball & Basketball Tournament in October
  • Annual Xmas barbeque

Senior Lifestyle Group

Meets every Tuesday at 1 New North Road, Newton, 10am to 2pm. Regular Activities: * Tai Chi (60 minutes with David Wong at 10am prompt) * Mah Jong * Mandarin Lessons * Table Tennis * Chinese Chess & Other Board Games * Indoor Bowls * Karaoke * DVD/film/photo screenings especially about China + anything else you want Entry Fee $2 per person.
